Sheltered windrow composting

Unlike open and paved windrow composting, the sheltered solution does not dilute the leachate with precipitation, thereby significantly reducing the amount of eluate. Rainwater is collected separately and can seep away untreated. In hot climates, the roofing provides additional protection against dehydration. In addition, an automatic irrigation system can be mounted on the roof structure in order to keep the compost at the desired moisture level.
